Looking to the future, the foundation has created the Hot Atom Fund at the Education and Research Foundation to further build upon Mike’s legacy by impacting aspiring talent in his field. All donations made in support of this fund will be given to the ERF. Any individuals that receive grants in connection with the Hot Atom Fund are selected by the ERF.

The initial focus of this fund is to raise money for the following:
• International travel grants for post doctoral fellows to attend key meetings
• Sponsored lectureships at meetings such as the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting and the International Symposium on Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (ISRS)
• Supported meetings of the Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging
